Best ERP software in Nepal (2026): a comparison on the rules that matter
No ERP is best for every business in Nepal; the right one depends on whether your hard part is billing and stock or payroll and attendance. For shops and traders that need IRD-approved billing and inventory, NitiERP and TallyPrime (through Tally's partners in Nepal) say so on their own pages. For service businesses whose work is payroll with TDS, SSF and Bikram Sambat dates plus attendance devices, EK ERP does that, but it has no inventory module and is not IRD-approved billing software. Microsoft lists Nepal as a partner localization for Business Central, and Nepal is not in Odoo's list of fiscal localizations.

Five questions to answer before you compare.
Most ERP regret in Nepal comes from buying for the demo instead of for the filing. Answer these first, and half the list drops out.
- Does the software itself have to issue your legal VAT bill, or do you use an IRD bill book? If the software must issue it, ask the vendor for its IRD approval and only shortlist products that state it.
- Do you hold stock? Retail, trading and manufacturing need inventory; a consultancy, agency or school mostly does not.
- How many staff are on payroll, and how many are enrolled in SSF? Salary TDS by fiscal-year slab, the SSF 11% and 20% split and the e-TDS sheet are where payroll errors cost money.
- Do you use biometric attendance devices? Ask which device brands sync, not whether "biometric" is supported.
- How is it priced: per user, per employee or per plan, and in NPR or US dollars? A per-user price in dollars grows differently from a flat NPR plan.
